How to Prepare a Delicious Matcha Green Tea?
Here are the 7 steps to fully enjoy your Japanese tea:
- Start by rinsing your bowl with hot water and wiping it with a clean cloth, following the tradition of the tea ceremony.
- Use a culinary sieve and place it over your bowl.
- Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha powder, depending on the desired quantity. Make sure to break up any clumps.
- Boil about 30 cl of water.
- Remove the kettle lid and let the water cool for about two minutes.
- Pour the boiled water into the bowl containing your matcha preparation. Use the bamboo whisk to whisk the matcha in a “W” or “M” motion in your Chawan (bowl). Repeat these motions until an emerald green foam forms on the surface of your tea.
